Troopie! I got to drive one of these around on Fraser Islend in Australia a few years ago and it was a blast. I can't imagine having one in the garage ready for adventure at any moment. Just ask @big_red_troopy how awesome it is!
Are there FJ40s everywhere? Here in Portland they are a common sight, scattered throughout the city like pepperoni on a pizza. Some are crusty, sure, but this original specimen looked nearly perfect. It checks all the right boxes.
Gnarly truck, dude! You pulled up next to me at the bank in North Portland and you ran to the ATM in the rain. I grabbed my camera, snapped a few photos and handed you a card. You sneered, threw it in your backseat and roared off in a cloud of blue smoke and dog hair. I still like your Bronco, though.
Check the RAV4 from the list. Four generations, six variants, all done. The soft top was only offered at the tail end of 1998 and through 1999, and being so rare I simply couldn't find ANYONE that actually owned one and posted photos of it. I spent longer searching than I did drawing!
The senior editor over at @4wdtoyotaownermagazine is building a Trekker, predecessor of the 4Runner, and wanted to visualize the finished project. Here ya go, Joel. Repainted black with blue striping, SCS F5 wheels in black and all of your custom tube work.
Another Sneak Peek winner! @garycravens chose to have his 4Runner illustrated topless and I approve. On of my best friends rocked a gray 1st-gen 4Runner in high school and the fun that we had in that rig was memorable. Want your own car illustrated? You can play the daily guessing game or for $100 I can put you at the top of my queue. Check out my latest posts to figure out the Sneak Peek game.
Number 168 in my quest to illustrate every Toyota is rare with only a two-year lifespan. The 1990-1991 Toyota 4Runner two-door (coupe?!) was offered with the bulletproof 22R for only the first year. The question is, @jasonsublette, did I guess right in that you have the four-banger?
Dig those sweet OZ Fittipaldi period-correct rims! My neighbor rocks this sweet little first-gen RAV4 and he's got all the goodies bolted on... the running boards, the grill guard, the fender flares... and those wheels. Perfection, you are stuck in the 90s.
